Wai Kit Lam was born in Hong Kong in 1966. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London, in 1996. In 2003, she received her MFA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her media included photography, video art & sound. Her research topic included the construction of identity and the interrelationship between individuals and surrounding circumstances. From the representation and the notion of identification, she also studies the roles and influences of ideology where we construct our own selves. From 1996, she held several solo and group exhibitions in Hong Kong, Italy, Shanghai, Beijing, Germany, Russia, Puerto Rico and Canada. Her works are collected by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum; and also private collections in the UK, Italy, Canada, America, Australia and Hong Kong.
