In my experience of art I have discovered that although an artist may make work the viewer gives it its meaning.
Everyone has their own opinion, I believe that no person can share the same opinion, due to the fact that everyone is different, their own personal beliefs come from experiences in their own life.
My mind is a private and personal space, my art work could be described as a social skill, an extension of me, my easiest form of communication that reflects who I am to the world.
What is opinion? My understanding of opinion is a self derived understanding of something you do not understand, something that deserves thought, even if you are told what it is or what it does, your understanding comes from your own experience in relation to the subject.
When I exhibit art I ask people not to understand my work but to understand themselves by experiencing my work.
My work is about human condition, senses, about perspective but mostly about the viewers projection of it and engagement within themselves whilst viewing it.
People will look for comfort or a familiar understanding in everything they do not understand, in their jobs, family life, their surroundings, if uncomfortable with a situation they will clutch to a memory or a past situation which will make them more comfortable, or less. People will project that familiar understanding (even If its subject is completely different) onto that alien subject and a chain of events will occur which will alter the pattern of their lives just that little bit, as human beings we do this everyday. If we could rewind our lives and fold down a page every time an alteration occurred, after doing something we enjoyed or something we regret, we could see just how far we have come in life and appreciate it.
My art is a recording of alterations in my life, but made vague enough to leave room for others to project themselves within it.
