The South London Gallery is a contemporary art gallery in Camberwell, South London. Its origin is in the Victorian period. It has an active ongoing series of shows and events, including some of the best known contemporary artists, and has staged ground-breaking shows.

Dancing in Peckham

To coincide with the Whitechapel Gallery’s exhibition of works by artist Gillian Wearing, the SLG presents her video, Dancing in Peckham, 1994, every week for the duration of the exhibition across ten venues in south London. Part of a new series of off-site projects funded by Bloomberg, the screenings begin at Wyndham and Comber Estate TRA Hall and travel to local schools, libraries, shops, cafés and public locations. Friedl vom Gröller (Kubelka)

Austrian artist filmmaker Friedl vom Gröller (formerly Kubelka) introduces and presents a screening of her work for the first time in London, followed by a post-screening discussion with writer, artist and independent film curator Lucy Reynolds. Initially known for her conceptual photographic self-portraits and images of avant-garde filmmakers such as Jonas Mekas, she began making films herself in the late 1960s. Inviting her sitters to gaze motionless into the camera for 3 minutes, these black and white 16mm films engage in a filmic dialogue of intimacy and playfulness.
Truth, Dare or Promise

This programme of films accompanies the Truth, Dare or Promise conference at Goldsmiths College on 20–21 April. It includes artists such as Hito Steyerl, Adam Kossoff, Miranda Pennell, Zineb Sedira, Eyal Sivan and Minou Norouzi. The films, selected by several speakers at the conference, are examples of the elisions and eroding boundaries between the definitions of film and art and the widening methods of exhibition.

South by South

Jean-Pascal Flavien: CINONEMA, NO DRAMA CINEMA

For his first solo project in the UK, French Berlin-based artist Jean-Pascal Flavien presents a new performance, entitled Cinonema, no drama cinema, followed by a three-day film installation of performative projections in the Clore Studio.
