My drawings originate from a collection of sources: still life sketches, photographs, and found images. They begin as observations and representations of plants and patterns I find interesting which are then fused together and embellished upon. I look at how accumulating lines and marks can work together as an expanding image to create a bigger picture.
In my work I wish to encourage the imagination and allude to the more animal, alluring and seductive side of plant life by playing with shapes and textures that can be found in in exotic flora.
