Gallery Plus is an exciting contemporary gallery in popular Wells-next-the-sea on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast.
More than just another art gallery, Gallery Plus is the home of the extremely popular and successful contemporary artist Trevor Woods and combines his art studio, PLUS an exhibition space with his work and that of other popular and well known artists and ceramicists, PLUS a professional picture framing service, PLUS a creative and affordable design service for anyone who needs anything designed ready for print.
Gallery Plus is owned and run by Trevor & Joanna Woods who have combined over 25 years of knowledge and experience in dealing with artists, galleries and picture framing to bring this exciting venture to Wells.
The gallery has a permanent display of original acrylic paintings by Trevor along with his signed limited-edition prints and greetings cards. Work by other selected popular artists is also on show and for sale in the gallery including: abstract canvases with a local theme by Terry Bestwick; etchings and books by one of Britain's most popular and best-selling printmakers, Graham Clarke; linocuts and etchings by printmaker Jason Clarke; abstract textured paintings by Josie Nudd, hand-drawn lithograph landscapes by Michael Papworth; atmospheric etchings by Anja Percival; screenprints by Carol Pintus and prize-winning oil paintings by Simon Wright. Ceramics include: industrial architectural forms by Zachary Eastwood-Bloom; sculptural vessels by Maria Wojdat and a fine selection of contemporary studio pottery produced by the well-known Made in Cley, who celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2009. Jewellery by Lua Lua is also on display and for sale.
Trevor’s strong graphic representations of instantly recognisable scenes are proving to be enormously popular and the gallery premises, opened in 2009, have allowed him to offer everyone the chance to visit his studio all year round. You are welcome to pop in for a chat and a coffee any time throughout the year and there is always lots of work in progress to see.
The exhibition space is regularly updated so you're sure to see something new every time you visit.
Gallery Plus offers a professional picture framing service. There is wide choice of natural wood and aluminium mouldings, prices are competitive and conservation standard materials are used. Trev and Jo are on hand to offer their expert advice and friendly guidance to help you choose the right frame for your requirements.
Artists requiring professional framing of their work will not be disappointed either; when a picture is well framed it will, without doubt, assist in the sale of their work. Aware that artists often have to work to exhibition deadlines, a flexible timescale is offered when necessary and a delivery facility and easy re-ordering system ensures a very positive service.
Layout Design is an affordable option for everyone who needs something designed ready for print. From promotional leaflets, flyers, postcards, brochures, catalogues and guide books, to posters, stationery and adverts; Jo works with the customer to create something high quality and eye-catching - all with a friendly approach and a price that won't break the bank. She has designed theatre seasonal brochures, posters, flyers and programmes and has undertaken design projects for North Norfolk District Council, the Salthouse/North Norfolk Exhibition Project, plus other artists, galleries and holiday home providers.
Gallery Plus is next to the enormously popular Big Blue Sky, just east of Wells on the A149 Coast Road. Customer car parking is available in front of the premises and on street nearby. The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm, plus Mondays 10am-5pm and Sundays 11am-4pm during the school holidays.
