Andrea Flamini is an Italian-born, U.S.-based artist whose practice spans a broad range of media including video, photography, and sound installations.

His work has been shown internationally in such venues as the Hong Kong Film Archive, Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA-USA, Kunsten Museum Of Modern Art in Aalborg, Denmark, Istanbul Contemporary Art Museum, Studio Matteo Boetti in Rome, ICC in Tokyo, Manifesta 4 in Frankfurt, Cinema L' Entrepot in Paris, the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki, ZKM Museum in Karlsruhe, Germany, and the Knitting Factory in New York. A retrospective of his videos was held in 2008 at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila in Rome as part of the 1st Italian Experimental Cinema Festival.

From 2003 to 2008, Andrea was an Assistant Professor in the Digital Filmmaking Department at the Kansas City Art Institute, where he taught courses in film theory, digital filmmaking and digital photography practices. His work on database narratives has been published by the Labyrinth Research Initiative on Interactive Narrative at the Annenberg Center for Communication of the University of Southern California and reviewed in several publications such as Future Cinema, RES magazine, and New Digital Cinema: Reinventing the Moving Image - Short Cuts, Film Studies series, by Holly Willis for Wallflower Press.
