Massimiliano Aurnia aka Fanbo was born in Milan in 1979.
Self-taught, he is deeply fond of the New York graffiti movement, and has developed since 1996, a strong interest in the study of lettering.
Such period is characterized by considerable activity in Train Bombing and Street Writing, in which the evolution of his style is evident, from the initial use of simple lines and Block Style, passing to soft and essential forms, until reaching complex and mechanical lettering; all particularized by a careful study of proportion, shadow, color and depth.
This course of study will constitute the background for the development of a deeper and more mature artistic knowledge.
In 2006 he came in contact with Amleto Bertrand, whose artistic influence contributed to the start of a period of dynamic and reflexive painting, characterized by the use and application on canvasses of recycled materials, industrial wastes and other spare parts of different size and shape. In this phase there is a strong presence of numbers, metal and chemical material used to express the alienation of the human being. We are all products of the post-industrial era: we are experimenting a huge urban decay; we are victims of the unstoppable process of de-individualization. The research of different materials aims to give to these artworks a visual feeling which is, in the complex, very aggressive and efficient.
