My work involves a process of wearing away and stripping down strongly defined compositions, which come from my photographs and drawings of architecture and structures. The subsequent paintings have a feel of a snapshot in time, a faded memory, a projection of a dreamt-up former reality. My intention is that the unspecific nature of these landscapes, or 'positions', may equally produce feelings of tension and dread in the viewer, as well as hope and optimism.
