It is almost impossible today for a young artist promoting an 
original and personal work to find out a gallery that accepts to 
promote him for a long period.

The high real estate prices and the easiness push many galleries to exhibit well-known artists or artists that develop their work in the two main fields appreciated by the Parisian contemporary art business: conceptual art and graphic art.

Early 2008, the gallerist Alexandre Ulliac, started the Atelier 40 project.
His objectives are as follow:
- Propose a space to artists (young and less young) which work as not been exhibited significantly in Paris.
- Sustain these artists on a long term.
