Alo is the pseudonym of Angelo Lopiano.

I was born in Vercelli, Italy, in 1959.
I produce pictures since 1975, mainly photographs and graphics.
Sometimes I write lyrics. In the years 1978-1985 I designed the graphic line of literary magazines "The Dark Side" and "Circolo Pickwick."

I created the concept of the culture and art magazines Mixed and Audax and I took over their design and management.
Since the year 1987 I was part of the Cultural Center Gallery "Studio Dieci" in Vercelli, Italy.

Since 1978 I have concentrated on creating digital media.
In 1988 I began to exhibit photographs and graphic works.

In June 1988 I presented "Chaos, Photo-Graphics" in the collective exhibition of the participants in the photography seminars in 1987 the gallery, cultural center, "Studio Dieci, headed by Fiorenzo Rosso, in Vercelli, Italy, from.
The occasion was thereby supporting the hypothesis that define the chaos rules the current human activities and I directed my future work under the umbrella term "chaos".
1988 to 1989 I organized under the name "Alozen" the Mail-Art Project "Chaos: A Mail Art Project for the late XXth Century", attended by 133 authors from 22 countries.
During this time I headed the modern media and techniques of the gallery, cultural center, "Studio Dieci" in Vercelli, Italy. I gave lectures in the photography seminars on the themes of cultural "chaos" and "Xerochromogravure: Application of Xerographic techniques in the alienation of Photography".
In 1989 in May and June I introduced the works of mail art project "Chaos" in the Warehouse Cultural Centre Studio Dieci in Vercelli and later into the offices of the Culture Department of the city of Casale Monferrato, Italy.

In May 1989 I participated with the self edited book "Casino Budapesti" at the international exhibition of amateur art book in Milan, Italy.
In June 1989, I presented "paralleli, Xerochromogravures" in the Gallery Cultural Centre Studio Dieci "in Vercelli.

In August 1989 I moved to Berlin, Germany.

1990 in March I exhibited "paralleli, Xerochromogravures" and "My Own, inner landscapes" in the cafe-gallery "Berliner Fenster", Berlin.
In July 1990 I showed "In Town" in the cafe-gallery "Berliner Fenster", Berlin.
In November 1990 I participated in the "Audio Visueel Experimeteel Festival", in part in Arnhem, Holland, with the video "Parallels 1990: an Application of Photography in Computer Graphic".
Since 1990 I refined the computer techniques mainly in the field of fractal geometry.
In December 1990 I showed computer graphics and photographs in the collective exhibition "Luoghi Simbolici, dalla Fotografia alla Pittura" (symbolic locations, from photography to painting) in the auditorium of the former convent of Santa Chiara in Vercelli, Italy.
In October 1991, I put "sinnenflut: Images from the chaos, computer graphics," In the Cafe Gallery "Sottopasso 46" in Vercelli, Italy.

1992 - 2008 break. Returned to photography. Initial attempts with painting.

1997 The e-zine PHOENIX started in 1994 became its new form as a multimedia web-projekt and was quited in 1999.

From 11/25/2009 to 24/12/2009 a solo-exhibition at the gallery cultural center "Studio Dieci" in Vercelli took place. The series "Berlin Prenzlauer Berg 1989/2009", "InTraum 2002" and "InTraum 2008" were presented.

2010-10-03 Exhibition "20 Years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall", Mid-School Obersuhl, Germany.
