During the last years I have been working on a series of paintings embracing the digital image, exploring femininity and problems of communication and language, themes ever present in my personal journey.
I work on my paintings for many months but seldom do I consider them finished. Even though you do not see all the layers that are underneath the final “make up” in each of the paintings you are witnessing are the results of a long lasting relationship. These paintings have their history, and what you see is their latest stage of development.
The paintings consist of many over painted layers that create the current observable image.
In the process of painting I work with layering, the same way I manipulate the digital picture.
Not searching for the same appearance but the dynamic. The paintings have their own ability to develop and replicate the sensation of the digital image, communicate through the powerful stains that represent the concentrated dose of flavor into the grey stream of information exchange.
The volume of depicted objects and bodily interaction with the canvas is for me the key factor.
I’m focusing on achieving the dynamic shiver and the logic and essence of digital work in paint. I do let the experience and knowledge of new media influence the classical technique.
