Life can be likened to a movie shown only once to a captive audience of one, a darkened auditorium in which the level of illumination is a decision for the solitary occupant. To see the light we must first acknowledge that we are in the dark.

I am a reluctant human being and society is my confinement, a prison in which the inmates have been convinced that really they are free. My gaolers are troubled by their own shallows, the fears they have of others are the fears they have about themselves cunningly repackaged to increase their legal appeal.

Abstract painter above all, my paintings are the fruit of an intrusive unconscious which expresses itself by means of colors, forms and movements. The result: creations that allow great freedom of "listening" and "reading" for the audience. The use of acrylic paint and its fast drying time is ideal for me because my paintings are an "instant" expression. I also like painting in public and creating full improvised paintings. The exchanges are many and my inspiration is just strengthened.

Working in close collaboration with affiliates in major art markets, art clvb’s mandate is to help established and emerging contemporary artists from the Middle East increase their exposure and recognition among the key players and markets in the modern art scene.

John Sauvé Artist Statement

I live and work in London. After a spell in design I returned to painting and began working at the National Gallery of Art in London. My intention was to earn a living and improve my understanding of the craft of picture making. For many years since completing my M.A. from the Royal College of Art I have done nothing but draw. I valued the idea of letting my work develop organically away from the need to produce a finished product.
