In my experience of art I have discovered that although an artist may make work the viewer gives it its meaning.
Everyone has their own opinion, I believe that no person can share the same opinion, due to the fact that everyone is different, their own personal beliefs come from experiences in their own life.
My mind is a private and personal space, my art work could be described as a social skill, an extension of me, my easiest form of communication that reflects who I am to the world.

Live art is the main activity of The Red Earth Society, which as well continues to search for, find, collect and document red earth, from whence The Red Earth Society's name derives.

The Art of Paul Chisholm is a conundrum, it is at once pleasing to the eye, but also disturbing at the same time. Many juxtaposed colours, objects and texts proliferate out of the everyday and extraordinary materials the artist utilizes in each of his works.

My current series developed out of a need to reconcile my political and abstract work. I found my way to celebrity portraits, those who I like to think of as “Moral Authorities.” I enjoy the provoking shock value of the positive non-vulgar message. I read a fortune cookie once that said “good advice jars the ear.”

I depict the rhetoric between the American Dream and the American Spirit. My work shows that both are alive in the sublime and hope-filled, yet gut wrenching and callous present tense America.
