Cody Critcheloe and his band SSION at 'The Last Tuesday Society'
Loved it, loved it loved it! I’ve been to this place a few times before. What they did for this event is they took the back section of the gallery area and invited their guests into a twilight zone where the borders of reality and a life of ‘everything goes’ are faded together to produce an experience that many will surely not forget anytime soon.
I sat at the back, on a big fluffy pillow sipping my gin mix - which came out of a dainty teacup while waiting for the featured video to start. As the projector warms up I stare with glee at the walls all decorated like that of Die Antwoord’s website, and the video starts...
It’s a fine line between insanity and genius, and it’s also a fine line between freakshow and avant guard, and what an interesting and inspiring place that fine line is! The first part of the movie is an experimental, highly edited video of a free spirited group of musicians in their quest to leave home for fame and fortune ...and a record-deal! The end part is a set of songs performed by the same band.
The artists behind this video, clearly gave it their all. Their style is all over the place, yet well defined. They expose themselves as much as they could and as loud as they could, and when they did, a lot of interesting stuff came out.
Along with all the snappy dressers and trendy dudes walked around, I also met the main artist himself - Cody Critcheloe. Check out the video here/below to see a short interview with him.
Here’s a link on my favorite song out of the video:

All in all, it was a real treat to the senses! Highly recommended.
