Abandon Normal Devices is an annual festival of new cinema and digital culture which welcomes audiences to experience the best in new cinema and media art in a celebration that spills from screens and galleries into the streets and imaginations of the North West.

Abandon Normal Devices is driven by a collaborative partnership between three of the UK’s leading art and digital culture institutions. Cornerhouse, FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), and folly. Cornerhouse is producing this year’s festival with a programme centred on Manchester.

We’re seeking moving image work of any form whether it be a feature, short, or artistic piece, there really are no restrictions.

We want to celebrate innovative national and international filmmaking, and enable our audience to experience provocative filmmaking, artistic delights and a transgressive approach to body and identity. We aim to seek work which pushes to identify new perspectives, investigating and debating even the abnormal!
