"A lot of what I do comes from being fuckin' scared of many, many things. Do you get worried? I worry. There are many things that can go wrong. I imagine what the world would be like if language failed us - no context, no processing... terrifying. I imagine what would happen if there was a nuclear holocaust - death, destruction, radiation poisoning... fatally bleak. I imagine a world without diversions; if image really masks the absence of a profound reality (cheers JB) - we are meaningless, directionless... empty.
And then it all gets a bit much and I take refuge in the cowardly truth of heartbreak, the blankness of physical process and the digestible horror of media entertainment.
But the fear is never far behind; it comes in the deciptive solidity of words, the ever-shifting fronteir of knowledge and the paranoia of a blank TV screen. Damnit"
