From the Spaces Series taken for the 'Living Space' exhibition, Red Gate Gallery, Brixton.
This series of photographs explores the representation of home through a line drawing, created by photographing a 3d wire model. Looking at scale, perspective, and reduction, the photos play on our associations of the house and give us a cold portrait of what we usually expect to provide comfort and protection.
Christina is interested in representation through drawing and playing with the idea of creating the feel of a space simply through line. We can imagine ourselves within this space, projecting our humanly actions upon it, yet remain clear that it is an illusion. It emphasizes the power of an image through our strong associations to the place it depicts.
