Rachel Price: Planning Permission
In April, Squid & Tabernacle is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of London-based sculptor Rachel Price. Price's work is concerned with investigating the dynamic between abstraction and representation, often through the pairing of image and form. With Planning Permission, Price attempts to locate a point of intersection between the two, building 'unfeasible architectural models', led my the constraints of their materials rather than byergonomic considerations. Also in response to the confides of the project space, Price plays with macro and micro scales hovering between sculptural object and architectural model.
Squid & Tabernacle is an itinerant gallery project staging a series of short-term exhibitions in varying media and venues. Our new location, a shipping container at Hartwell Street in Dalston, will play host to a series of site-specific exhibitions, installations and interventions starting spring 2010.
