The Elemental exhibition illustrates two definitive styles of Charliejoye’s paintings.
The first being a visual interpretation of Space and Time, a series of paintings that
manipulate the chemical reactions of acrylics and lacquer to create an explosion of
colour and shape, representing the perpetual infinity of the universe.
Coming down a bit more to earth, the collection also exhibits pieces that explore
the human form in an abstract style, using textiles to create visual as well
metaphorical shadows over the shapes.
Charliejoye’s approach to his work is conceptual whilst always allowing the process
to organically evolve. He is hesitant to let his own perspective cloud the viewer’s
interpretation, as in his own words he encourages you to “See, what you see”.
