"Beauty2 Square - Wavering Gray"
Shea Ming Song successfully creates tensions between “the real” and “the unreal” in an attempt to capture the essence of “representation” and “presentation”. The monochrome of his palette is realistic yet abstract, like the winter in England, a massive gray without boundaries, forming a wandering path across the Pacific and the Atlantic Ocean. As the theme of the paintings, tapes in various forms conduct a dramatic episode and monologue, expressing a self-esteem hidden in modesty. His art works create a scenario well blended with elegance and humor, from England and America respectively. As the gray mysteriously approaches in a blurred image, poetic transformation between fiction and reality is wavering gradually, so near and yet so far.
