‘Hang then decay…it says something to me about my life’. Open for one day only – Saturday 25th of September 3-7pm 2010. Last year’s 4th annual show at Terrace attracted over 100 entries and finally brought together a group of over 30 artists whose work was installed alongside the previous years 40 entries and shown outdoors in a walled 2000 sq/ft former piece of wasteland.
The exhibition has remained in the space, exposed to the elements and has shifted, faded, broken, rotted, remained and disappeared over the past 2 years.
This year there is a call for entries that will add to this exhibition and again be left in this unique outdoor gallery, the theme of the show is ‘Decay and you’.
The opening will be for one day only on Saturday the 25th of September from 3-7pm 2010 and will include a Bar, BBQ, DJs and an after show party at the Duke of Wellington.

Deadline for Entries: Noon Friday the 3rd of September 2010

Fee: Entry is free, £10 administration fee applicable if work is accepted.
Delivery of work: Between 12-2pm on Saturday the 18th of September
(if you need to install your own work it needs to be done during this time)

1. A maximum of 200 words on the work you want to enter including title, dimensions, medium, date, relation to the theme, name, contact number and email.
2. A maximum 1MB jpeg of work/similar work/installation etc. to support your proposal.
Images over 1MB will not be accepted.
IF ACCEPTED YOU MUST
Deliver the work to Terrace on Saturday September the 18th between 12– 2pm.
Include fittings to install the work, i.e. mirror plates, nails etc and Install work if not straight forward.
Pay the £10 cash entry/administration fee on delivery of artwork.
Accept that after the private view the work will not be for sale, must remain in the space and is not insured.
Attend the Private View on Saturday the 25th of September 2010 3–7pm

Light Space & Time – Online Art Gallery presents a Juried Competition, in which 2D artists from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for the theme “Liquid” for inclusion into the October 2010 online group exhibition. Light Space & Time encourages entries from all 2D artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field.
A group exhibition of the top five finalists will be held online at the Light Space & Time Art Gallery during the month of October. Awards will be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. In addition, 2 artists will recognized with Honorable Mention awards. The theme for September is “Liquid”. The submission process for artists ends September 29, 2010.
All winners will be selected, announced and featured on the Light Space & Time website on October 1, 2010 and remain online in the gallery through October 30, 2010. Thereafter, the artworks will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives with links to the artist’s websites.

Three selected artists will each receive a bursary of £10,000 and a six-month period of critical and professional development support from mentors; Paul Bonaventura, Stephen Farthing RA and Chantal Joffe. The mentors will offer feedback on their studio practice and introduce them to a broader professional context for painting.
Jerwood Painting Fellowships is a new initiative from Jerwood Visual Arts. It follows the successful four year run of Jerwood Contemporary Painters exhibitions which came to an end earlier this year. The Jerwood Painting Fellowships are an open submission opportunity. UK based painters are invited to apply for the three new Fellowships, which are to be awarded to outstanding artists in the first five years of their professional practice.
During the mentoring period from October 2010 to April 2011, Fellows will be required to work towards an exhibition of new work within the Jerwood Visual Arts programme, to be curated by the three mentors. The exhibition will open at Jerwood Space in April 2011 before embarking on a tour later in the year.
