gallery:space (Shiri Shalmy)
Shiri Shalmy is the founder and first Director of gallery:space.
She is programming and managing all the exhibitions and projects and is the main curator of the space.
gallery:space is a not for profit public art space in the middle of Finsbury Park, north London.
It hosts an ongoing programme of free exhibitions, art projects and educational activities.
Since its opening in April 07 gallery:space hosted
- Nature Trails - a group show of four London based artists working in video and installation
- PARK project & Finsbury Pie - a collaborative video work between Tom Richards and Bern Roche Farrelly from Reception Space and a group of young people
- Q:2 by Lee Simmons - documentation of the artist's interventions in two UK quarries + a site specific installation in Finsbury Park
- Alt.SPACE - a two-day seminar by the international artists network
- Mohammad Ali Talpur - a solo show for the Lahore based artists curated by Green Cardemom
- The Washroom Talks - discussion/video by zeiTraum
- Salon Locale - a group show of 19 emerging and established artists working in different media
- The Istanbul project - photographic images of Istanbul by Israeli photographers
- Visions of Consciousness - The Journey of the Caribbean Artists Movement (1966-72), retrospective exhibition and programme of events
