4th Plinth
I have decided to enter in to the draw for the 4th Plinth project by Antony Gormley.
I wont think about what I will do unless I get picked but an initial reaction is to spend an hour drawing, far from the madding crowd.
I wonder if any artselector artists are entering this?
I was at Hay book festival and saw Antony talk with Tim Marlow. Thought they both did a really good job, was absorbed by Antony's discussion and presentation.

I was never very keen on his seemingly endless repetition of making sculptures based on casts of himself.
This project - like Field for the British Isles - is less wrapped up in Gormley's own ego, which is a good thing in my opinion.
But why are you thinking about doing something whilst occupying the plinth? isn't the idea just to 'be' ?

They are imagining a stream of performance artists, uni cyclists, clowns and wierdos to entertain as well as some people who will do nothing but observe.
I was thinking of making a cup of tea with a camping stove and maybe doing a bit of drawing from a vantage point thats unusual.
A friend thought that it would be 'fun' to dress up as a chicken and make a point about battery farming?

Seems there are winners and losers. I didn't see or read any option box for adding what I wanted to do? Never mind, don't think I would have entered if there had been or if I had seen, a box to fill in asking what are you going to do?
