Mitrentse arts's picture

Christina Mitrentse investigates the esoteric qualities of myth through possessing a dexterity of techniques, including handcrafted sculpture, drawing, photography, installation and conceptual appropriation. Her practice oscillates between that of curator, storyteller, and archaeologist. The work incorporates the extensive use of these disciplines to coerce the iconoplastic and conceptual vocabulary, in an endeavor to designate the peculiarity of this relational space of aesthetics. Ignoring traditional hierarchies of display, Mitrentse creates a freedom to suggest new narratives and poetic ensembles of personal institutions such as schools, libraries, churches, academies and museums.

Mitrentse is a Greek visual artist and art educator based in London East End since 2000.
