This is among the studies that I have been uploading to my own blog, studio of ashes, where I have been posting some images for the past several years.
I haven't written much about these little paintings, much less about the big ones I am doing simultaneously, though a number of people have told me I should.
I am not sure what I saw or where, but - as I had a bunch of little canvases around with these triangular, "airplane tail" shapes already glued to the faces of them - well - converting the triangles into the red robes of these priestly guys seemed like the natural next step. read more »
