Tedna Ve/Draw Me is an installation aimed at community arts intervention by Jonathan Polkest, an artist from Cornwall whose work ranges from painting, textiles and print or photographic techniques. The accompanying 4 minute video was made by Andrew Tidmarsh whilst Jonathan's installation was exhibited at the South London Gallery in the U.K.
Tedna Ve is Cornish language for Draw Me, the installation is a booth where the person from whom the portrait is made sits in the illuminated end and the artist making the portrait sits in the darkened part of the installation.
Anyone can make a portrait with the Draw Me /Tedna Ve installation, there's no trickery, hopefully people taking part can learn about the science of figurative art in the renaissance as well as the technical basis of digital camera's, above all, participants will be collaborating to create a collective artwork comprising of the cultural identity of all who take part in this project.
