To review is to recall, to retrieve something from memory and make it present, to rewrite it with careful thought and extend from it, perhaps to appraise and critique, or maybe to reconsider and look again.
From 2006 to 2013 ArtSelector was a free online network and forum for a community of contemporary artists. A multifaceted tool, the site strove to share opinion and opportunity as a web-based collective of critically engaged practitioners. Becoming a publishing platform in 2015, ArtSelector continues as a collectively formed voice of cultural criticism.
Dedicated to the written arts review, ArtSelector aims to reflect on both its form and role in relation to contemporary practice by publishing writers that approach the task in contrasting ways. We encourage writing of different styles, voice and viewpoint. In doing so, we hope to build a platform where objectivity and subjectivity, art writing and art criticism can coexist.
As we progress, we want to develop a community of writers, critics and practitioners both online and off through a programme of events. Please keep an eye on our News section for updates. If you are interested in writing with us, please do get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
